Truth is successful for the following reasons:
· The story begins with a violent murder that takes place at a teen party. This exciting introduction quickly capture’s reader interest.
· The protagonist of the novel was at the party but she has no clue who committed the crime. Since she is one of the suspects, she takes on the task of finding out who did it. The suspense and mystery in the story line help maintain reader interest.
· This novel is very short (just over 100 pages) which is manageable for slower readers.
· The teens in this novel are very realistic and believable. Their problems, relationships and social interactions are very typical of today’s teen.

Truth is suitable for grades 9-12 and it would be most appropriate for locally developed and workplace courses. It centers on the following themes:

· Search for Truth
· Self Discovery
· Parental Relationships
· Lies and Betrayal
